FAQ
- Who are Bridge Classic Cars?
Established in 2004, Bridge Classic Cars is family run business built on a passion for classic vehicles. We now operate a full in-house service including restorations, tuning and engine rebuilds, automotive electrics, service and repairs, body preparation and paintwork, interior trim work, MOT, finance and valuations, transportation and logistics, events, auction representation, sourcing, sales and of course…competitions.
Our amazing team of specialist technicians, welders, painters, engine builders and trimmers along with father and son Gordon and Craig Ranson offer years of combined experience in owning, restoring, maintaining and competing with classic cars and motorcycles.
- What is a classic car competition?
Our raffle-style competitions were set up to give you the chance to win your dream classic car for just a few pounds. Simply pick which competition you would like to enter, answer the skill based question and secure your tickets. Your ticket number(s) will then be emailed to you. Watch the live draw to find out if you’ve won!
- How can I trust this is real?
Transparency and honesty are of upmost importance to us here at Bridge Classic Cars. Over the decades we have built a fantastic reputation within the classic car world. We’re proud to be rated 5 stars across various online channels and having been recognised for many industry led awards we hope we’re doing a good job!
We publish the entry lists on our website ahead of our live draws and conduct our draws in the clearest possible way. Being an approved RMG (Real Money Gaming) advertiser through Meta means we have been vetted by an external panel to authenticate we are advertising responsibly.
- How is the winner chosen?
The winner is chosen live on a video stream on our Facebook Page. We select the winning ticket number using Google Random Number Generator.
- I’ve won! How do I collect my vehicle?
Congratulations! We will be in touch with you using the email address and telephone number linked to your account. Unless, otherwise agreed, your car will be personally delivered to you using our own transportation. (UK mainland only). Our workshops and showroom are based in Woodbridge, near Ipswich, Suffolk. We are strictly appointment only.
- When is the competition winner drawn?
The draw date and time is advertised on the competition page.
- What is my ticket number?
Your unique ticket number(s) will be sent to you by email as part of your order confirmation. You can also see your ticket number(s) on your online account. Simply log into ‘My Account’, then you will see your ticket number under ‘My Orders’.
- How many tickets can I buy?
The number of tickets you can buy will be listed on each competition page. As well as this; the total number of tickets made available per competition and number of tickets left available will also be visible on the competition page. The more tickets you buy, the greater your chance of winning is!
We impose restrictions on the maximum amount of tickets any one person can buy for two main reasons. Firstly we want to make our competitions as fair as possible and stop any one individual buying up a large proportion of the total available tickets. Secondly, ticket restrictions safeguard people who potentially have issues and spend more than they can afford entering competitions.
- Can I pay using PayPal?
On 26th August 2020 we received approval from PayPal for the use of the PayPal payment gateway on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions official website. As of the 14th September 2020 the PayPal payment gateway was launched on our website so we are now able to accept PayPal as a form of payment.
- I am based overseas, can I participate?
If you wish to participate but are based overseas we have detailed information within our terms and conditions that will help you through the process.
Our office is open and happy to take calls on 01473 742038, we can assist you with any questions you may have and help you with various other ways of payment.
- Why do you ask for my contact details?
We need your telephone number and email address to arrange delivery of your new car! If we cannot contact the winner within 7 days of the draw, we will re-run the draw to find a new winner.
- What is My Wallet?
My Wallet is a credit area where money can be applied to your account and used against future competitions or purchases. Looking for gift ideas; if you know someone who often buys tickets with Bridge Classic Cars then why not buy them a gift voucher, the value will then be added to their My Wallet section. Bridge Classic Cars have also been known in the past to add our own gifts to your account. If money is applied to your account then it will automatically show up in the checkout, you do not need to do anything with the My Wallet section.
- How old are the vehicles in Bridge Classic Cars competitions?
We aim to offer an eclectic mix of competitions vehicles. We’ve had vehicles as classic as 1950’s through to brand new, unregistered cars. If you have a suggestion of what you would like to see or if you have a vehicle yourself that you think would make a great competition car, then we would love to hear from you.
- I've used my card before, why is it now declining?
It seems that certain banks have recently decided to further safeguard their customers from ‘gambling’ and ‘skill based competitions’. If you are experiencing an issue paying for tickets using a credit card, please revisit the checkout and select PayPal as your preferred option. You DO NOT need to have a PayPal account, your existing credit card should still be able to proceed successfully.
- Why am I getting the error code 'NONCE' when trying to order?
A nonce is a kind of temporary secret key or token that is unique to you. It is a security mechanism that can put an extra layer of security to website plugins or themes to avoid several types of attacks such as Cross-Site Forgery (CSRF) or XSRF attacks.
The abbreviation of nonce is a number used once, which means you can only use this key once for a specific task. As a result, it provides protection to the URLs and forms of our site from abuse.
We hope we have rectified this issue but, if this does happen to you, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
