Theย Live Draw for this competition was held on Friday August 6th 2021.
Rover at its launch in 1976, took the motoring press by storm with the Rover 3500 SD1 “Specialist Division One”
Winning the European Car of the Year title in 1977. The SD1 can be considered as the last “true” Rover.
This Vanden Plas model is fitted with the legendary Rover 3500cc V8 engine coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Finished in Gold with tan leather interior they are a very rare sight on the roads today and we are very pleased to be offering this particular car as a competition.
Seen by most, this top of the range model would have been at home wafting along with its Bank Manager owner behind the wheel with the turn of speed driven from its not unsubstantial 3500cc engine, able to hold its own against most sports cars of the day.
A true all-rounder, this classic is more than happy keeping up with today’s traffic on its days out.
The Vanden Plas has the full spectrum of the Rover options, central locking, electric sunroof, alloy wheels, extra chrome trim and full leather interior.
Congratulations to Andrew Oswald, winner with ticket number 1709.
