Undoubtedly one of the most iconic cars of the eighties, no sooner had our latest addition arrived at our workshops was it surrounded by admirers.
Say hello to our 1985 Lotus Esprit Turbo.
The Esprit’s popularity soared after featuring in the 1977 James Bond film, ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’. The Esprit Turbo went on to feature as Bond’s car in ‘For Your Eyes Only’, this solidified its status as a true icon of the time.
Our Esprit has spent the majority of its early life around Kings Cross, London, the car has covered just 57000 miles and comes with a seriously impressive history file, complete with original Lotus literature.
In it’s day it was one of the fastest cars on the road. Even by todays standards this is still a fantastic drivers car. It’s 2.2L turbocharged engine rockets this car to 60mph in just 5.4 seconds! The Esprit Turbo only weighs 1300kgs and eats British ‘b’ roads for breakfast. There is no way to avoid grinning from ear to ear when behind the wheel of this iconic Lotus.
The car is not only rare but highly sought after.
The MOT history, which can be openly viewed online shows an impressive story with just one failure back in 2013 which has since been rectified. The car’s history can be found by looking up it’s private plates ‘LBH 815’. The registration plate is currently in the process of being transferred.
The paintwork and interior is very honest, with a couple of imperfections in places but absolutely nothing to show signs of concern.
The car is ready to be driven and enjoyed, a real head turner. This car is guaranteed to get attention, the unique 80โs styling has cemented its place in history and the price on these vehicles is appreciating every year, this is certainly one to watch.
Congratulations to Oscar S Casco, winner of the 1985 Lotus Esprit Turbo with ticket number 394.
