Our 2008 Mercedes SL63 AMG is a certified supercar killer thanks to its 6.3-litre V8 AMG engine that generates 518bhp and 464 lbs/ft of torque. This powerful Mercedes is limited to a top speed of 155mph. When you get behind the wheel and experience its power for yourself, you’ll probably be very grateful for that.
Its predecessor, the SL55, was something of a loose cannon at times as it was ruled by its powerful engine. With the SL63 though, things are more balanced and more refined.
The interior is still just as comfortable and luxurious as you would expect from this type of Mercedes and the fact that it’s a convertible, means you can look as stylish as you feel.
As you perhaps won’t be driving it at high speeds all the time, this is a car that is perfectly happy at normal driving speeds too. The automatic gearbox is smooth, responsive, and is equally as satisfying to drive to the shops as it is to race around a track.
