1999 Mercedes SL280
Following on from our hugely popular Mercedes SL55 AMG R230 competition we introduced our 1999 Mercedes SL280 R129. The perfect modern classic to enjoy on those summer days…in fact, everyday!!
Some would argue the R129 is the very best model from the entire SL collection, based on quality and performance but all we know is this is one seriously fun car! The W198, W121, W113, R107, R129, R230 and R231, let’s face it, have Mercedes ever made a bad SL?
Finished in metallic silver with grey Nappa leather, a fully functioning black hood and a full electric silver hardtop. The car was a beautiful example of a used modern classic; whether you want a stylish everyday car or some fun for the summer. Packed with gadgets that 20 years on still don’t look out of date even in today’s standards.
Having covered just 72,000 miles with an amazing collection of history files and receipts to help warrant the car and piece together its life on the UK roads. Most of the paperwork suggests that the car has been cherished by its former keeper/s and well maintained using the skills and knowledge of Mercedes main dealer technicians. MOT history has also been preserved and in good order.
The Mercedes SL R129; designed in 1984, the R129 was based on the shortened floor-pan of the Mercedes W124 and presented as the new SL-class the Geneva Motor Show in March 1989.
Congratulations to Robert Read, winner with ticket number 131.
