Château Canon is a prestigious winery known for its refined wines in the Saint-Emilion region. The estate takes its name from Jacques Kanon, a Royal Navy privateer who purchased it in 1760 and recognised the land’s potential for vineyards.
In 1996, Chanel, owned by the Wertheimer family, acquired Château Canon. The estate earned the Premier Grand Cru Classé title in the first Saint-Emilion classification in 1955 and has held this honour ever since due to its exceptional wines.
Located on Saint-Emilion’s clay-limestone plateau, the 34-hectare vineyard is planted mainly with Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). Protective walls shield the vines from spring frosts, while the unique soil helps produce grapes with excellent ripeness and freshness.
The wines age for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 70% being new each year.

The 2016 vintage of Château Canon benefited from ideal weather, resulting in an exceptional harvest.
This vintage blend is made of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc. It is a deep red wine that is still in its sealed case. This means that the 12 bottles inside have not been touched, opened, or exposed to the outside elements. Whether you wish to keep the 12 bottles in the sealed wooden case as a potential investment or enjoy them over the Christmas period – it is a stunning wine that you will certainly enjoy.
